Frequently Asked Questions; Bubble Tea Edition!

When people hear of 'bubble tea' for the first time, they usually have a few questions that immediately come to mind. Why is it called 'bubble' tea? Where does it come from? What are the different flavours? Luckily, we've answered some of your burning questions already on our FAQs page, but we decided to go a little more in-depth into the most common questions people have when they buy their very first boba tea kit!

Here at Manhua Cha, we craft and deliver delicious bubble tea sets across the UK, full of your choice of flavour of toppings! We even provide an easy-to-follow recipe, allowing you to enjoy your favourite flavour from the comfort of your own home! From traditional milk tea to yummy fruit tea, we've got you covered! Have some questions you need answering? Let's see if we can help!

What is the Purpose of 'Boba'?

'Boba' is typically what we call the toppings that sit at the bottom of the drink, from tapioca pearls and jelly to tasty popping boba filled with juice! Many think that the toppings are what give bubble tea drinks their name, but it's actually from the bubbles that are formed after some vigorous shaking in the making of the drink! Tapioca pearls in particular don't really have much flavour; they're mainly there for texture, giving bubble tea its statement ingredient!

Each of our bubble tea kits come with your choice of topping, except for our brown sugar milk teas, which come with good old-fashioned tapioca pearls! If you're in need of some extra toppings, you can visit us here.

Are Bubble Tea Kits Suitable for Vegetarians?

This all depends on the kit you choose. All of our fruit teas are perfectly suitable for vegetarians and vegans alike! Vegetarians can enjoy all variations and toppings, as our jelly is made from coconut pulp and our popping juice balls are made from seaweed extract! If you're vegan, although our milk tea isn't a suitable choice, our fruit teas come in a range of different flavours, from exotic passion fruit to classic strawberry!

How Are you Meant to Drink Bubble Tea?

There's no right or wrong way to enjoy boba tea. However, to really get the most out of your toppings and the drink, it's best to use a chunky straw to suck up the tasty toppings with ease! In our kits, you'll be provided with cardboard straws if you don't have your own. If you frequently enjoy bubble tea at home or when you're out and about, we have some colourful stainless-steel straws that you can reuse for years to come!

Can I Order a Kit?

Don't worry, there's no checklist when it comes to ordering a bubble tea kit. You have full choice over the flavour and toppings you choose, allowing you to mix and match combinations to your heart's content! We can even deliver your bubble tea kit directly to your home across the UK, so if you're far from your local store, we're here to help!

Can I Cook Tapioca Pearls?

Cooking tapioca from scratch can be a time-consuming task. Luckily, there are ways in which you can make tapioca pearls at home for a fraction of the time! Our uncooked tapioca that comes in our kits takes around an hour to make, which you can then soak in your own homemade sugar syrup. If you're a bit too busy to wait that long, we also provide fast cook tapioca, which takes just five minutes in the microwave.

If you want to branch out from regular tapioca, we sell a range of flavours, such as green tea, taro and lychee! To view our full collection of fast cook tapioca, please visit us here.
